About CAT Exam?
CAT (Common Admission test) is a Common entrance test which is appeared by the candidates who want to get admission in IIM's and many other top MBA Colleges and Institutes in India. One can say that it is the gateway to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management. It is an online exam conducted over a window of 20 days. Around 2,00,000 graduates, post graduates and professionals appear for CAT every year.
Step of Selection in CAT:-
The candidate will be shortlisted for Interview on the basis of Marks in Exam. The final selection would be on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination, Interview or Group Discussion and strictly in the order of Merit.
CAT 2013 Exam Date:-
CAT 2013 Registration will start from 29 July 2013.
Last date for Registration is 26 September 2013.
CAT Vouchers can be collected by students from selected Axis Bank branches between 29 July and 24 September 2013.
CAT 2013 will be conducted between October 16 and November 11, 2013.
CAT Paper Pattern:-
CAT 2013 will have only two sections instead of the erstwhile three sections. The first section will focus on Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation; the second on Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning. There will be total 60 questions in the paper, 30 in each section. The duration of CAT 2011 will be 140 minutes.
A 15-minute tutorial will be provided before the start of the test, and candidates are advised to go through that carefully before starting the main examination. The total duration will be two hours and thirty five minutes including the tutorial. A practice test to provide candidates with a feel of the timed sections, as well as navigation and functionality of the actual test will be made available in the coming weeks. Once again candidates are advised to go though them carefully to familiarise themselves with the screens, layout, and navigation.

CAT Marking Scheme:-
CAT follows negative marking scheme. Each correct answer carries 1 mark and incorrect deducts 1/3 mark.
Who Can Apply For CAT 2013:-
The candidate should have Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) categories or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Where To Get The Application Form:-
The CAT application form from the selected branches of Axis Bank on payment of Rs. 1300/- (Rs. 650/- for SC/ST candidates). Under exceptional circumstances, CAT 2013 application form and bulletin can also be obtained from any of the IIMs by sending a crossed demand draft of Rs. 1300/- (Rs. 650/- for SC/ST candidates) drawn in favor of the respective IIM.
