What is AIBE?
AIBE stands for All India Bar Examination. The entrance exam is conducted to test an advocate’s ability to practice the profession of law in India. The AIBE will assess capabilities at a basic level, and is intended to set a minimum standard for admission to the practice of law; it addresses a candidate’s analytical abilities and basic knowledge of law.
AIBE 2013 Paper Pattern :-
The exam paper consist of 100 multiple choice questions spread across various subjects. The maximum duration of the exam is 3 hours 30 minutes. The examination will be conducted across the country. Though it follows ‘open-book’ format the candidates can bring in any reading materials, text books and treatises or hand written notes. They are not allowed to bring any other electronic devices like laptop, mobile phones or any device equipped with a radio receiver.
AIBE 2013 Syllabus :-
The questions for AIBE are Knowledge -based and Reasoning-based. There will be 20 subjects covered for the exam. These subjects are selected from the syllabi prescribed by BCI for both three-years and five-year LLB programmes ( as set under Schedule I to the Bar Council of India Rules)
Topics covered in the exam include dispute resolution, civil procedure code, constitutional law, contract law, criminal law, Indian penal code, Criminal procedure, drafting and pleading, evidence, jurisprudence, professional ethics, property law, administrative law, company law, environmental law, family law, human rights law, labor law, law of tort including motor vehicle insurance, taxation law and public international law.
AIBE 2013 Eligiblity:-
The candidates who has enrolled as an Advocate under Section 24 of the Advocates Act, 1961 are eligible for All India Bar Examination. These candidates have to submit proof of enrolment along with the application form.
